11 Nov Christmas and Numbers
Hey everyone!
We have been continuing our in it about the story of Christmas. We this week learnt how Mary knew she was going to have a baby and we made angels to show what Angel Gabriel said to Mary.
We’ve been learning about different types of transport and sorting them into land, air and sea.
In maths we’ve been recognising the numbers 1,2,3 in different ways and finding shapes that have that many sides. We found a circle, semi circle and triangle.
We’ve been writing by adding a line to a poem about sticks. As our story this term is about sticks and the journeys / things you can do with them and your imagination. I will post the class poem!
We’ve been practicing our handwriting letters s and a.
We’ve gotten really into our reading sessions and I am so impressed! The resilience and engagement by the kids is spectacular.
A great week! Bring on week 3.
A side note about homework: some of you may notice the same book coming home. We cannot move onto another book until every sound has been consolidated and the students are able to confidently blend most words in the book. It may just be one or two sounds, so don’t worry we will get those learnt in the next week!
