14 Oct Fun week of learning!
Dear Parents and Guardians
This week has been a fun week. We have been learning new things everyday.
In English we have been writing a letter to Beegu to say goodbye. Year 1 is really trying hard to apply their phonics in their writing. We also had a fun lesson where we role played a page from the book. Year 1 really got into character.
In math’s we have started subtraction. We have learnt all about grumpy sally subtraction who likes to take things away and make them smaller. We had a fun practical lesson today where used used number lines to work out our subtraction sums.
In Science we learnt a new sense, touch. We discussed what different things feel like and thing made a hand with each finger having a different feeing on it such as soft, hard, smooth, bumpy and rough. Year 1 then had to choose between a variety of textures and place them on the right finger to match the texture.
Year 1 has been working really hard in their phonics.
