14 Oct Half-term fast approaching!
Dear all,
Another week has passed and half term is fast approaching! We have had a very busy week as usual but it was very fun!
In English we wrote a letter to Rapunzel about how to defeat witches. The children had some wonderful ideas! I have to say I was very impressed. They had some wonderful ideas like throwing some salt water at the witch! The children then went on to plan their own plan to make a fairy tale story. The children really had to think about their story, rather than just writing a story straight away. It will be very interesting to see what their stories will be like at the end of next week!
In Maths, we have been subtracting numbers trying to work it out mentally by getting to a 10. This will take some practice and perhaps to go over again. They certainly got better as we kept going over it.
In Geography we spoke about different weather across the UK. The children remembered the countries of the UK very well. We asked questions about what seasons it might be in different parts of the UK. Were they the same? Were they different? Why was this?
The children were lucky enough to have a computing specialist come in and teach them about computers. They were super eager and enjoyed every second of it!
In RE we spoke about temptation and the children found it very hard to not eat a biscuit that was in front of them! We spoke about how this is temptation and how we can help ourselves not give into these temptations.
My fabulous star of the week this week was Raphaela, she tries incredibly hard every single day and she should be very pleased with herself!
A small reminder if the children could bring in their reading books and to read regularly as some books have not be signed.
On a positive I can see most children are practising their spellings which is fabulous!
Also a warm welcome back to Isaac, it’s been fantastic having him back in the class.
We also have a trip on the 18th November to the cinema in the morning, if any parents would like to help. Please message me if you would like to help it will be from 10-11.
Thank you
Miss Nero
