16 Sep New sounds and new topics!
Hi all,
This week we’ve been learning new sounds s,a,t,p and how to write them. Please practice these at home! The children have been great at remembering them so far, but we know practice makes permanent.
We delved into our new R.E topic which started with what is precious to us. So thanks to the students who brought in something special. We shared what is precious to us and why. We discussed how people can be precious and as Christina’s we believe God is precious to us. When asked why, some of the responses were “because God protects us” and “because God helps us when we are lost” which I thought were great answers.
We have been really practicing our numbers to 5. We’ve been putting them in order and choosing the correct representations for each number.
The building blocks were a hit and the students made some awesome things like cars (using hula hoops for wheels 🧠 ) and castles! It was cool to see them work together and make these.
We have continued to practice writing our names, we even had a go in our special writing books.
Next week we will be going to the library on a Friday afternoon. Parent helpers will be much appreciated!
And lastly, we are running low on biscuits for our snack time. We are a nut free and healthy school so please only bring plain biscuits.
Thanks! Have a great weekend and we will see you again on Tuesday the 20th.
