11 Nov Remembrance Day
Good afternoon!
Thank you to all of the parents who came today to Islington Green for Remembrance Day! The children were brilliant!
In Literacy this week we continued with our work on Fly, Eagle, Fly! Focusing on the perspective of different characters in the story.
In Maths we have continued looking at adding and subtracting 3-digit numbers, looking at a variety of different methods.
In Science we spoke about what is needed to help a plant grow and we began planning out an experiment.
In Geography we spoke about Polar climate zones and on Tundra. We also spoke about the differences between the Arctic and Antarctic.
In RE we spoke about how we prepare for Christmas and the significance of the prophets in their prediction of the coming of Jesus.
I have sent home new homework books for the children to use, these will be consistent around the school with all of the other classes. In those books the children stuck in their new spelling words for the week. These are for group 1 and group 2. I would like students to practice their spellings using the same ‘Look, say, cover, write, check’ method. I would like these homework book returned on Tuesday the latest please, so I can check that homework is being completed. Also so it can be ready to give back out on Friday.
For Maths homework I would like children to use either Times Tables Rockstars or Prodigy.

2) angrily
3) lazily
4) easily
5) busily
