03 Oct Settled in!
Good afternoon families,
Well done to Year 5 for another good week! They have all settled well into their regular routines.
In Math this week we learnt about comparing 6 digit numbers and roman numerals. Next week, we will learn about negative numbers and start our new topic: Addition and Subtraction.
In English, they are putting the final touches to their diary entries. We will start the non fiction unit: All about France. The homework posted yesterday will be used to help with the children having pre-knowledge about the country.
In History, we explored Law and Order in the Anglo-Saxon era (some punishments were quite harsh indeed).
In RE, we evaluated the story of Jesus and the 5 loaves and 2 fishes with which He feed over 5,000 people. For PSHE, the children explored the effect of Media on our perception of celebrities, and evaluated what qualities are needed to be a positive role model.
Homework: Please scroll down to yesterday’s post for information on the homework due next week.

It is equally important to know what the word means as well as how to spell them, so please ensure you know what each word means and can use it in a sentence if asked (You do not have to write them in a sentence this week).
Have a pleasant weekend!
