27 May Platinum Jubilee Celebrations 2022
St Mary’s Church of England Primary School held a wonderful ‘Jubilee street party’ in honour of HRH Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. We celebrated her majesty’s milestone year with a day of festivities. On Friday 27th May 2022, music, an open air lunch with VIP guests, a respectful rendition of the National Anthem from all the children and staff and even a photo opportunity with ‘The Royal Family’ were all part of the day.
“I really enjoyed the day, especially the lunch outside, ” recalled a pupil.
“The whole school made me very proud!” said Mr. Benjamin, Teaching Assistant. “Everything came together so well, especially after all the practice put into singing ‘God Save the Queen’ over the last few weeks.”
Children were encouraged to dress up for the day, create their own crowns, as well as bake and decorate cakes. The winners of our Platinum Jubilee crown and cake competition won certificates and Platinum Jubilee medals.
“There was a real sense of excitement and anticipation for our Jubilee Celebration day with all the planning and preparations that took place beforehand,” shared Headteacher, Genevieve Prayag. She went on to say “It was truly a memorable day for our children, staff and community as we joined in with the spirit of togetherness to celebrate our Queen’s wonderful service and achievements over the last seventy years.”
Thank you Maam, for all that you have done for our country.
